My work is known for its dramatic lighting, moody atmospheres, bold brushwork, and vivid colour. Over the years, I’ve created multiple bodies of work ranging from figurative pieces and urban or rural landscapes, to ravens and my magical, imaginative Dreamscape Series.  Art has always been my language — a way to explore emotion, story, and inner worlds through colour and form.

I received my formal art training at ACAD (now Alberta University of the Arts) in the mid-1990s, where I majored in sculpture. Even then, painting was always at my core. After art school, I returned to my roots and built a full-time career as a professional artist.

Since 2000, I’ve been working professionally in the arts — not only as an artist, but as a passionate educator.

As an art educator, I’ve developed an extensive range of classes, workshops, and programs designed for everyone — from complete beginners to advanced professionals. To date, I’ve had the privilege of teaching thousands of students, helping them build confidence, refine their skills, and express their unique artistic voice.

My teaching style is practical, supportive, and deeply personalized. I demonstrate a strong understanding of nearly every 2D medium, while also encouraging personal growth alongside technical development. Many students describe my classes as not only educational, but also therapeutic — a space for exploration, creativity, and transformation.

Art is my lifelong passion,

& the wisdom I gain through my own practice is something I love passing on.

I strive to lead and inspire in a way that feels natural and empowering, helping students believe in themselves and their creative potential.

I’m known for explaining complex concepts in a clear, approachable way, and for creating learning environments that are supportive, encouraging, and confidence-building. I bring kindness, humour, professionalism, and consistency into every class — meeting students where they are and teaching in a way that works for them.

I officially founded Indigo Arts in 2005 with one simple goal

to Educate, Inspire, & Make ART!

Today, my work is held in corporate and private collections across Canada, the United States, and Europe, and I am currently represented by Aven’s Gallery & Lineham House Galleries.
